Among the stellar lineup of projects from HKUST are six initiatives that embody the university's commitment to driving positive change through cutting-edge research and practical innovation:

  1. Multi-functional Green Coating Materials: Spearheaded by Prof. Jinglei Yang, this project focuses on sustainable glazing surfaces, showcasing the fusion of eco-friendly materials with functionality.

  2. Time-Reversal Diagnostic for Pressurized Pipelines: Led by Prof. Moez Louati, this initiative introduces a novel approach to health monitoring in critical infrastructure, promising enhanced safety and efficiency.

  3. Green-House-Gas-Free Elastocaloric Technology: Prof. Qingping Sun's project explores sustainable cooling and heating solutions, leveraging innovative materials and devices to reduce environmental impact.

  4. Solar Control Film for Glass Windows: Developed under the guidance of Prof. Baoling Huang, this technology offers a blend of heat and UV protection while ensuring optimal visibility and seamless RF/WiFi transmission.

  5. Durable Multilevel Antimicrobial Protection: Prof. King Lun Yeung's project introduces safe and effective antimicrobial surfaces, paving the way for enhanced hygiene and infection control.

  6. Environmental Risks Assessment Tools: With Prof. Alexis Lau at the helm, this project empowers stakeholders with essential tools for evaluating and mitigating environmental risks.
